I am graduating with a Ph.D. in Education Policy Studies from the University of Wisconsin in December 2022. My research focus is on the economics of education policy, and my advisor is Dr. Amy Claessens. I have attained two master’s degrees, one from Columbia University in Social Science and the other from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Education Policy Studies.
Before coming to Wisconsin, I was employed as an economics and history teacher at an urban public high school in Brooklyn, New York, where most, if not all, of my students came from underrepresented, lower-income, multicultural, and diverse neighborhoods. As a union representative in my school, I was a stakeholder working on education policies that improve educational opportunities for the students of New York.
